At the age of 7, Miral and her large family had embarked on a Heighliner bound for a holiday resort planet, to spend a few relaxing weeks; separated from their group, they young girl found herself lost and descended in a frigate that took her to none other than the icy world of Wallach IX. Quickly discovered by the Sisterhood, young Miral Alechem faced the possibility of being evicted off-world immediately, but the Bene Gesserit Mother Superior made the decision of keeping her at the school instead, not giving anyone reasons for it.
Over the first few years, Miral performed manual labor such as tending to the gardens and greenhouses, but slowly the Sisters recognized her sharp intellect and a very keen ability to detect when others were being untruthful. Thus, she became an Acolyte, starting her real training as a Bene Gesserit. Despite the expectations, Miral proved to be a brilliant student who complained little and soaked up information like a sponge; more and more her talent of detecting deception became obvious, now stimulated by the drugs used by Truthsayers.
Upon her 31st birthday, Miral undertook the Spice Agony from which she survived, now having attained both the Reverend Mother and Truthsayer status; no more the orphan girl with no future but a respected member of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, Miral was appointed as Imperial Truthsayer on Kaitain, with precise instructions of finding the genetically appropriate match for the new Emperor, who would deliver the wanted offspring.
