Mack Brubaker
Most smugglers are chauvinists with little respect for women, but few exemplify this better than Mack. He considers himself to be a fine wit and indeed his boorish jokes usually go down well among the rest of the gang, although not with Yalara since she is frequently the butt of them. There probably isn't a prostitute in all the brothels on Arrakis that Mack hasn't tried.
Raphael de Cristo
Raphael thinks his courtly-sounding name lends weight to the theory that he is the illegitimate son of a nobleman. The rest of the gang don't believe a word of it and just call him 'Raffa', but he is nonetheless the best knife fighter in the group bar Yalara and is the one most likely to be called upon when Mobius needs someone silenced permanently.
Russ Biggs
One of the strongest members of the group, Biggs is great in a fight or when something really heavy needs moving, but he isn't too bright and can be manipulated by someone with more smarts than him. Unfortunately for him the majority of his comrades fall into this category. Generally good natured but easily led he is often the first to laugh at Mack's tasteless jokes but the first to apologise when Yalara stares him down.
Doc Church
Church is a fine medic, except for that one incident where cosmetic surgery on a gem merchant's wife went rather wrong and got his licence withdrawn by the Suk Medical School and a price put on his head by the angry husband. Now reduced to doing illegal work for an illegal organisation he is dour and grumpy about what he perceives as a fall from high up the ziggurat into the depths of the sewer. He nonetheless cheers up when it's pay day and he can indulge addiction to Semuta.
Abdul 'Spider' Aziz
Probably the second best circuit-head in the group after Tek, although only in the same sense as a high school teacher being the next most intelligent after Leonardo da Vinci. Spider specialises in electronic locks and breaking them, and is usually the prime suspect if anything goes missing from a fellow smuggler's quarters. His nickname derives from his long spidery fingers which are ideal for delicate electronic work. Dearly wishes that Tek would teach him his secrets but has so far enjoyed little success getting the Ixian to share.
Joaquim Garcia
The team's mechanic, currently laid up with a broken leg and various crush injuries sustained during an outbreak of panic onboard a spice harvester. Joaquim is getting on in years and will probably retire from the business soon anyway. Started his career maintaining soostone skimmers on Buzzell before more lucrative work for the smuggler gang tempted him, and still has a wife and family there.
Jeb Maddox
Formerly high up in the gang and one of Mobius Turgenova's unofficial deputies, Maddox was arrested during a raid by customs officials while trying to take a load of spice off planet and is currently languishing in a Harkonnen jail.
Edgar Groesh
A corrupt Guild official who in return for a hefty retainer from Mobius keeps the group's accounts looking respectable, launders their profits, and alters shipping manifests. This gaunt-faced man is not part of the gang proper but nonetheless is seen quite regularly about the base. He resents the fact that he did not make the grade to become a Navigator and has no problem defrauding the Guild who made him go through the painful process of testing for nothing.
