Lucas Jeanne Lydia Romus - Proctor Superior, later Mother Superior
The highest ranking Reverend Mother on the Bene Gesserit planet of Wallach IX, Proctor Superior Lucas Jeanne Lydia Romus has held the reins of the Chapterhouse for six decades and, despite her advancing age, continues to do so unabated. Born on Grumman to a Bene Gesserit sister of hidden rank sent to conceive a child with a key member of House Moritani, Lydia Romus doesn't remember her birthplace: indeed, her mother and the newborn had vanished from the system within four days of the girl's birth, bound for a secluded Bene Gesserit controlled asteroid that sometimes served as haven for Sisters on the run. There, the future Proctor Superior spent the first five years of her childhood, cut away from the rest of the universe with just her mother and the few Sisters who lived on the asteroid as company, and instructors. There, the supremely strict, inflexible character of her mother began shaping her young mind and body into her ideal of the perfect Bene Gesserit: disciplined and deadly, supremely skilled mentally as well as physically. Even though she was separated from her mother the moment she set foot in the Chapterhouse to commence her training, Romus never forgot those very first teachings. She continued to work hard and excel in most courses, passing even the most gruelling examinations with flying colours, more interested in achievement than any other facet of her life. As an adult, she fulfilled various roles within the sisterhood, from information gatherer to breeder and teacher, distinguishing herself as a leadership figure of commanding authority, with a superb memory and impressive management abilities. Eventually this lead to her being elected as Proctor Superior of the Bene Gesserit Chapterhouse on Wallach IX, a position she has held firmly for almost sixty years and continued to do so in spite of the fact that other younger Reverend Mothers constantly coveted the position.Eventually, she is replaced by RM Harishka as she goes on to become Mother Superior of the entire Sisterhood.
Josephine Vortigern - Kwisatz Mother
A contemporary of RM Alechem at the Motherschool, nothing in particular set Josephine Vortigern apart from others of her generation. As an Initiae, she encountered some difficulty adapting to the rigours of life on Wallach IX, but gradually conformed and was accepted among those who would one day brave the Agony. It wasn't until she survived her trial and became a Reverend Mother that Josephine's true importance to the Sisterhood was revealed: with the inflow of Other Memory, a special avenue was opened for her, containing the full scope of the Kwisatz Haderach breeding project spanning millennia. She was chosen as the Kwisatz Mother, although some contest her position as the ultimate authority on the HK project due to some very unconventional and provocative revelations she has made.Forged many years ago during one of their first missions as graduated Sisters, RM Josephine shares a mutual bond with the inscrutable Miral Alechem, if not exactly of friendship then of trust and an inner understanding. Personality wise, the once sweet-natured girl weighed down by the hardships of Bene Gesserit training has become a shrewd woman ever navigating the restless waters of inner Sisterhood intrigue.
Reverend Mother Callisto Bautista
Now nearing the end of her 9th decade RM Bautista has enjoyed a long and very distinguished career in the Sisterhood which has included serving as Mater Magna of Chapterhouse and as Imperial Truthsayer on Kaitain. In the latter role she was responsible for administering the test of humanity to Princess Shalandra Corrino, and later was instrumental in persuading Corrin XXV to exile his daughter to Tupile and in having Shalandra stricken from the all-important Kwisatz Haderach breding programme. Now she heads the vocal minority of Bene Gesserit protesting against the plans of Kwisatz Mother Josephine Vortigern to reinstate Shalandra into the programme and breed from her. Her supporters insist that Bautista's words carry weight because she has experienced closer and more extended contact with the Princess than any other Sister, while her detractors argue that her strident refusal to accept any debate on the matter of the Corrino woman's humanity smacks of a personal grudge. Bautista counts Vice Proctor Superior Magda Kovacha among those she trained as Acolytes.
Sister Jade Kaplinski
A former Acolyte of Magda Kovacha, fiercely loyal to her mentor and to the dissident faction within the Sisterhood opposed to the direction in which the Kwisatz Haderach programme is being taken. Trained as an Emissariae Espion, Kaplinski often functions as the Vice Proctor Superior's eyes and ears in places where a senior Proctor cannot easily go, and also put her close quarter combat skills to work eliminating Vortigern's aide Sister Lusia.
Helena de la Tour - Profictus and Dormitory Monitor
Some Bene Gesserit Sisters are destined for great things. They go on to become powerful Reverend Mothers, wise Truthsayers, the wives and concubines of the rich and the powerful. Helena de la Tour is not one of those but rather belongs to the second and much larger group of Sisters whose destiny is instead to be the archivists, the administrators and the bureaucrats who keep the Sisterhood running and without whom the elite would never have the time or resources to go about their vital tasks. Helena does not resent this though, indeed she fully appreciates that not everyone can be a chosen one and that the Bene Gesserit could not function without its general rank and file. Born on Wallach IX to a Bene Gesserit mother and a middle-ranking shipping administrator at the spaceport she was naturally tested for admittance into the Sisterhood and made her parents proud when she was accepted. A dutiful and obedient student she performed solidly in all her classes without ever standing out or quite making the cut to be considered one of the high-flyers. It was considered only natural that she be selected to become a profictus since hers were not the skills of a proto Reverend Mother but rather a head for quiet careful paperwork and an uncanny knack for knowing what other people were doing and whether they should be doing it. A natural choice as a dormitory monitor she is responsible for ensuring the care and upkeep of the dorm where Elisha Montague and Lilith Piacevole sleep, and more than once has been the nemesis who uncovered their rule-breaking activities. Devoted to her service to the Sisterhood she hopes to make dormitory supervisor within a year or two and cannot understand the rebellious attitude of the two friends whose paths she has crossed.
Nylissit & Jennail Tricou
Contemporaries of Lilith and Elisha at the Mother School, diligent and skilled but in a textbook fashion which annoys those such as Miral Alechem who value original thinking. Later taken by Proctor Superior Romus as acolytes. Jennail has dark hair and Nylissit is blonde.
Reverend Mother Magdalene Anaheim
RM Anaheim specializes in teaching biology and zoology, known for her dramatic flare and engaging teaching style.
Reverend Mother Mitsuko Tokugawa
Tough, uncompromising and specialising in the physical and martial disciplines, RM Tokugawa regarded Elisha Montague as one of her finest students.
Reverend Mother Harishka
Archiving mistress, in charge of the library and archives at the Mother School. RM Harishka later becomes Proctor Superior.
Cassandra Deucatur
One time friend and co-conspirator of Elisha Montague and Lilith Piacevole who would later turn aside from her rebellious ways and embrace Sisterhood orthodoxy under the tutelage of Proctor Superior Romus. Cassandra tended to be the quiet one of the trio, less given to outbursts than the others, but her two friends respected her intelligence and it was often she who concocted the best plans for sneaking out of the school grounds or hiding items of contraband.
Sister Lusia (deceased)
Sister Lusia has only ever truly distinguished herself for one reason: being one of the few young women to be trained by Reverend Mother Josephine Vortigern, notorious for living a reclusive life and rarely taking Acolytes.
Lusia remained at the Reverend Mother's side after she completed her training, working closely with her which gave rise to rumours that RM Vortigern's unique Other Memory had secretly revealed her as the future Kwisatz Mother.
When RM Vortigern was ambushed and kidnapped on route to Kaitain, Sister Lusia was the only survivor. She succeeded in alerting Miral Alechem to their fate before rushing back to Chapterhouse to bring aid, but was subverted by Jade Kaplinski before she could reach her destination.
Djan Anteac
Petite, wiry and utterly uncompromising - such is the first impression Djan Anteac leaves on most people. She is a woman of an exceptionally dour disposition and few are those who can recall ever seeing her smile.
From an early age, she has shown an aptitude for design and mathematics, later combining the two into a successful architect career; the building of a new Bene Gesserit keep on Chusuk and redesigning the Mother Superior's wing on Chapterhouse are counted among her achievements. When not working, she is stationed on Lampadas.
Djan is assigned as an accomplice to Damien Lothander during his mission to seduce Princess Shalandra Corrino, the true architect behind the restoration project while posing as Lothander's assistant.
